"Honestly I care more about the cover letter than I do the resume. A resume is a list of bullet points but a properly done cover letter can illustrate many things. A cover letter says the candidate read the job decription and was able to illustrate in written form an understanding of the position".

There are many components of getting your next job, however if you can't get past the first step then you will may never be able to articulate other features that make you the best fit for the organization.
